OTHER と ANOTHER
ANOTHER
ANOTHER は、AN + OTHER 「とある他の物」という意味です。A/AN のように「不特定の物」を指し、かつ、「他の物」なわけです。
Can I have another cup of coffee?
Could you come back another time?
We have just moved to another apartment.
THE OTHER が、「その、他の物」で「一つしかない」のに対し、ANOTHER は「とあるほかの物。」つまり、他にもANOTHER がある事を示しています。
One of my children live in New York. the other lives in London.

One of my children live in New york. Another one lives in London. The other one lives in Japan.

ANOTHER は数詞と共に用い、「さらに〜」を意味します。
We have to wait another three weeks for the results.

ONE...ANOTHER
one after another,from one to another, は、「次から次へ」という意味で良く使われます。
Small businesses have been collapsing one after another.
She spend all day shopping from one store to another.
ONE ANOTHER
ONE ANOTHER は、EACH OTHER 同様、「お互いに」を意味します。代名詞扱いになるので、動詞や前置詞の目的語になります。
They love one another very much.
We all trid to help one another.
My mother and I often wear one another's clothes.
My mother and I often wear each other's clothes.
ONE ANOTHER は、３人以上に使うという説明を見かけますが、英英辞書を確認する限り、ONE ANOTHER も EACH OTHER も、２者以上の間で使え、意味に違いはありません。
