最上級と共に使われる前置詞
どのグループ内で「最も」なのか表す場合、最上級は前置詞句で表現します。主に、【IN】【OF】【AMONG】などが使われます。

日本という枠の中で

太陽系の惑星達の中で

太陽系の中で
原級や比較級のように特定の接続詞をつかわないので、どの前置詞を使うか悩むところ。特に、【IN】と【OF】の使い分けは試験によく出ます。
【OF】は、「〜というメンバーの中で」という時に使います。【IN】は、「〜という枠の中で」という時に使います。
【AMONG】は、「〜というメンバーの間で」という意味。殆んどの場合 【OF】との置き換え可能です。【OF】には「属している」というニュアンスがあるのに対し、【AMONG】は「〜の間」というニュアンス。その違いだけ意識しておきましょう。
【OF】【AMONG】【IN】の他にも、popular とwith のように、普段相性の良い前置詞とくっ付く事も多くあります。

THE 序数 最上級
一番でなく、２番、３番という場合は、THE 序数 最上級 を使って表現できます。
