間接話法−質問・命令
wh-Question
Wh-Questionの間接話法は、主語・動詞の順番が普通文と同じになります。語尾も下げて発音されます。

I asked him, "How old are you?" I asked how old she vwas. |
Yes-No Questions
【IF】【WHETHER】+ 主語＋述語
Yes-No Questionの場合、【IF】 又は 【WHETHER】 を使います。Wh-Question 同様、主語+述語の順番です。

【WHETHER】はどちらかというと書き言葉、【IF】は話し言葉ですが、大きな意味の違いはありません。
命令と依頼 - Command and Request
命令文はto-不定詞を取る命令・依頼を表す動詞と共に表現します。
tell の他に 【ASK】【REQUEST】【FORCE】【ORDER】【WARN】【PERMIT】 がよく使われます。
My mother said, "Get up!"
My mother told me to get up.
A man said to her, "Don't smoke here."
A man told her not to smoke there.
She said, "Pick me up at the airport, please!"
She asks me to pick her up at the airport.
